The Salt Lake Piping Club celebrated our 1st anniversary on November 29th, 2004 at Piper
Down. The night was wild, the tunes great, the cake fattening, Becky's bannana bread tasty,
the beer cold, the nuts warm (don't ask!) and Wayne's set of Highland pipes LOUD! We
couldn't have asked for a better time. Dave indeed bought a round for the club on the house,
and offered a toast to our continued presence in his pub. What a guy! We ended up having a
bit too much cake for us to consume, so we asked Wayne to grab his Highland set, and he
blasted us in with all the pomp, circumstance, and football-game-interrupting-piping-loudness
that he could muster...and of course, the whole bar cheered! I'm told the rest of the cake lasted
for about another day or two, but was happily devouered by the rest of the patrons. Here's to
our first year behind us, and a hundred more yet to come!
